Hey, I'm Steve and I'm an Aussie who moved to Sweden in 2017 to try to be a father, originally my first Daughter Cirilla.
I have been in an uphill battle to stay in this country and have had so many set backs that have included being separated from my children, missing the birth of my second daughter, working to repair the damage done from my absence with my kids and serious mental health issues from being in a constant state of not knowing what's going to happen next.
I missed the birth of my second daughter as I was sent back to Australia for an interview with the Swedish Embassy in Canberra. I had to wait in Australia for 9 months for that appointment to eventuate.
My residency is going through an extension period and in the past I've been allowed to work through this as I have a social security tax numer, but recently I was told that I am no longer allowed to work, my bridging work permit is also gone, and my access to unemployment has been severed because I no longer have a valid work permit.
So, I'm not allowed to work nor can I claim my unemployment salary insurance that I have been paying for through my union or claim my parental leave benefits that I would normally be entitled to.
Right now I'm in a situation where I have rent payment due, to a company that has an immediate eviction policy, and no where to go.
I don't want to leave my girls again, if need be I will be homeless to stay with them.
I appreciate anything that can help push me to my goal of staying here for the maybe 5 or more months it could take to process this residency.
My cost breakdown is roughly as follows:
Rent Per Month: 7677kr
Electricity Per Month: 1000kr give or take
Internet Per Month: 500kr
Food Per Month: 2000kr ish or whatever is left
