Steve Barefoot

Hello, friends of the Barefoots. As many of you are aware, on July 20th, Steve suffered a traumatic brain injury accident while vacationing with his family in the Outer Banks. The severe trauma caused by Steve's fall led him to be airlifted to Norfolk General Hospital, where he is currently receiving care. There is no doubt that this has been a life-altering event for Steve and his family. After multiple surgeries, pneumonia, and other complications, Steve and his family still feel blessed that he is alive and continues to fight.

Many of you know Steve as "Coach Barefoot" as he coached GYFL and impacted many kids on and off the field. His wife, Natalie, is one of the first faces many parents and kids see when entering Abingdon Elementary School, always with a big smile and sincere greeting.

If anyone is determined to take on this challenge, it's Steve. As a dedicated employee of Newport News Shipbuilding for over 30 years, he values hard work. His most significant accomplishment, however, is raising a beautiful family and being a devoted husband, father, and "PA", to his beloved grandson Maverick.

Steve's fight will continue at a rehabilitation facility in Atlanta once he is ready to be transported. However, medical expenses have added up and will continue to do so throughout the rehabilitation process and aftercare. Natalie will be traveling to Atlanta to be by Steve's side, which is an additional cost. As Steve is the provider for his family, we are asking for help to assist with the expenses the Barefoots are facing.

It will be a new challenging journey to recovery for the Barefoot family, and I am asking for your support in any way. Any donation is immensely appreciated, as well as sharing this link and lifting the family in prayers and positivity. They are eternally grateful and touched by the support received so far.
