On October 16 we lost someone truly special. Steve was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. Steve was always a hard worker. He loved his job as a truck driver. He loved being the provider and taking care of his family. However about a month ago he was let go from that job he loved because of his illness. With that he lost many benefits that would have helped him and provided what the family needs to cover expenses. His wife would have had time to grieve without the worry of finances when he passed. They had to pay for his expensive cobra insurance just so he could get care last month and this one. It hasn't been easy. They absolutely tried to apply for help once he lost his job but they were denied all of it. It was a very scary and stressful time and it still very much is now too. His wife Esmerralda is also a hard worker and has worked for the last 30+ years as a teacher to kids with special needs. She loves what she does with a passion and is an amazing teacher, however it isn't a job that pays what someone who does this for a career deserves. Asking for help is so hard. Help is what we need right now though. We really need help to cover his final expenses. We need help to ensure his wife, my mother in law, can have one less thing to worry about for just a little while in this traumatic heartbreaking time.
