This is a fundraiser for Steve and Kim Etheridge.

As a friend of the family, my husband and I are reaching out to our community and beyond to help this hard working, salt of the earth, family fight for Steve Etheridge’s life. He is the main bread winner of the family and has already used up all his medical leave going to hospitals this entire month. His treatments are going to be very expensive and some days he is too weak to work. 

July 30th, he was rushed to Shands hospital in Florida, because the hospital in our community could not care for his needs without having a neurosurgeon on staff. Shands discovered 2 larger masses and several small masses in his lungs.

It started with a horrible headache for over a week. The first CT scan and MRI revealed a blood clot on the lower right side of his brain, and blood clots in his lungs, caused by the cancer. Unfortunately, things have gotten worse.

On August 16th, the right side of his neck began swelling, making it very difficult to swallow, sleep and breathe. He was ultimately admitted again, to the hospital with Superior Vena Cava syndrome, and stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer.

On Aug 19th, He started aggressive radiation treatments, and so far showing no significant improvement. He is having trouble breathing and is becoming very weak already.

They have 2 children, and 2 grandchildren, with one on the way. They are a wonderful family that need their 
community’s help to survive and beat this cancer diagnosis.
