Steve and Connie Whang
In the last two weeks my Uncle Steve and Aunt Connie were infected with COVID-19, and have been extremely weak and ill. The two of them, along with their 13-year-old daughter Tiffany have been forced to quarantine in their home in South Florida; however, Steve was recently hospitalized due to his decreased Oxygen numbers and was forced to undergo in-patient care where he has been for the last five days. Meanwhile Connie has had to maintain care for Tiffany on her own while she is ill, which for most parents of teenagers may not be so difficult, but Tiffany has a rare genetic condition known as Phelan-McDermid Syndrome.
Steve and Connie started the adoption process with Tiffany before she was born over thirteen years ago and have cared for her and loved her throughout those years. They regularly attend seminars to not only learn how to best care for Tiffany, but also to encourage others affected by it. They have selflessly given their time, affection and resources since their child's birth to provide her with the highest quality of life that anyone can offer a child with her condition. Phelan-McDermid Syndrome is a genetic disease, meaning that she was born with it and will carry it her entire life. If you would like to know more about the disease, go to this webpage: https://www.pmsf.org/about_pms/
Before adopting Tiffany, Steve and Connie have served in the ministry with long-term missions work in South and Central America and have continued to serve faithfully in their church since then.
Any funds donated will go to helping Connie with Tiffany's care as it is extremely expensive and they cannot afford it while both Steve and Connie are too sick to work, as well as sanitizing their apartment, which is required for her care and was quoted at over $800. If enough money is raised for theses costs, any remaining funds will go to Steve's healthcare, which will not be completely covered under his insurance.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support, God bless!
