My sister Karla Johnson and her husband Steve lost nearly everything they owned when their house burned to the ground in the Paradise Camp Fire.
Karla is a school teacher and Steve is a postal worker. They have spent most of their lives serving others and now I would like to help them.
They feel very fortunate that they and their beloved dog Piper got out safely when they did. However, they were only able to grab enough clothes for a few days. Everything else was lost in the fire that consumed their town.
Their home before:

Their home after:

The following is a partial list of what was lost and will need to be replaced, and there is much, much more:
Their couch, their chairs, their dining table, their coffee maker. Their bed, sheets, pillows and pillowcases, linens (all of them). All of the clothes in their closet and dressers, their TV, their vacuum, lamps, and lights.
Kitchen items like their refrigerator, and stove, their pots and pans, their plates, their favorite cooking utensils and knives, bowls, silverware.
Everything in their garage is gone. Their washer and dryer, all of their tools, camping equipment, and the BBQ and smoker. Everything is just GONE.
The losses are overwhelming. The house has been leveled to the ground. It is a total loss.
We, their family, would like to ease their burden at this time with a gift of funds that will cover some of the expenses they will incur during the restoration process. They are suffering enough just having lost things like cherished family heirlooms and all of their personal items, and we want them to feel our love and support. They have an amazing attitude and are thanking God that they have one another and their dog.
Please consider giving anything you can. Every little bit helps and we know they would be eternally grateful.
Thank you,
David Holifield
