Sterling is our 3 year old grandson. On December 19th, 2018 he suddenly became very sick. After multiple tests, they have found swelling and fluid in the white matter of his brain, and some swelling in his spinal cord. The diagnosis is Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis.
It is a rare autoimmune disease marked by a sudden, widespread attack of inflammation in the brain and spinal cord. He is currently in the hospital undergoing extensive treatment. Mom and Dad are beyond exhausted and because of all of the time needed to be in the hospital, our daughter Sara, Sterling's Mom, was let go from her job.
