Meet Sharon and Sarah Jane: Walking 100000 Steps for Education in Gambia!
Hi, we’re Sharon and Sarah Jane, and we work at Big Dave’s Chip Shop. We’ve teamed up for a massive challenge: walking 100,000 steps each in a single day. We’re doing this to raise funds for an incredible cause: supporting Big Dave and his friends as they head to Gambia to build classrooms for children.
Why This Cause Is Important to Us
Education is the key to unlocking brighter futures. The classrooms we’re fundraising for will provide a safe and inspiring environment for Gambian children to learn and thrive. We believe every child deserves the chance to dream big and reach their potential, and we’re committed to doing our part to make that happen.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
Every dollar raised will go directly to the construction of these much-needed classrooms. Your support will help provide essential learning spaces and a better future for these children.
Please join us in making a difference. Every step we take is fueled by your generosity, and we can’t do it without you!
We will embark on our walk on Sat January 18th 2025.
We plan to start from Big Dave's, and head for the coastal walk towards circular Quay passing Coogee, Bondi, Watson's Bay, Double Bay etc and back. We will finish back at Big Dave’s.
We estimate it will take us between 15 and 16 hours and we will cover around 80kms.
Our aim is to start at 4am and finish between 7-8pm.
That's a lot of walking!
