Steppers Walking Football - Women of Colour WFC CIC

Hi my name is Chantel and I am member of Steppers, a dedicated organisation focused on empowering women of colour through walking football.

We are seeking funding to support our vision and mission of fostering physical well-being, mental resilience, and community engagement among women of colour and we have recently become community interest company.

As a team founded in 2021, under the leadership of Coach Vinnette Campbell, our mission is to promote inclusivity, health, and community engagement through the sport of walking football. We are a group of women aged 40+ from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and we have witnessed the positive impact that walking football has on our physical and mental well-being.

Our activities revolve around training sessions and fundraising events. During the winter months, we train on a 3G football pitch at Skinners Academy, which costs £245.36 per month. This venue provides a conducive environment for skill development and team bonding. In the summer we train in local parks to save funds and also engage with women exercising in the park, proudly displaying our Steppers flag alongside flags representing different countries.

With the money raised it will allow us to secure Skinners Academy in advance for winter training sessions, ensuring that we have a consistent and reliable training space.

Furthermore, it will enable us to host our first home tournament, inviting other walking football teams to participate. This tournament will not only showcase the positive impact of walking football but also foster community engagement and create a sense of pride within our team.

The impact of the donates goes beyond the immediate benefits to our team. It will allow for improved training facilities that will enhance player skills and overall experience, creating a positive ripple effect within our community.

And allow us to host a tournament that will further strengthen community ties and demonstrate the power of walking football as a tool for inclusivity and empowerment.
