As many of you know, I've been practicing yoga regularly since 2011. It's become a huge part of my life: helping me take care of myself and heal in the midst of trauma, but it has also helped me connect with fierce, loving people and build better relationships.
For a long time, I've wanted to become a yoga teacher, but haven't had the time or money. School and work have been the priorities. But after 6 years, I have the opportunity to be a part of an amazing teacher training program with my friend and long-time teacher, Amber Cook. I've already begun to apprentice her, and now I need to begin working on the classroom portion of my training. In September, I'll travel to Nicaragua to complete the program.
I want to be a certified teacher so I can confidently create more healing spaces for people I love, and people I don't even know yet, but I'm sure I'll love them when I meet them. I want to be able to share this practice and its healing power with teachers and educators who are doing so much already, and of course, I want to be able to share it with the people who've loved and supported me for...ever.
The cost to take part in the classroom hours here in Chicago, plus the 2-week trip in September to finish training (flight and accommodations) will be $4,250. Any bit you could donate would be greatly appreciated. And of course, whether I meet my goal or not, you all have lots of free gratitude yoga to look forward to :)
Thanks in advance, Peace,
