Steph's walking Mums
Earlier this year we lost our very dear friend Steph quite suddenly at the age of 48, she was one of the kindest and loveliest people I know. Everyone you speak to remembers her for the same thing she always went out of her way to say hello and make you feel welcome. Andy, George and Maddy had their world turned upside down, school put them in touch with SeeSaw who are a charity that help children going through bereavement and they have been a support to them over the last 6 months as well as the support and love from their friends and family.
We wanted to remember Steph in a fitting way, she loved walking but ever since we climbed Ben Nevis by night she was not a fan of our crazy challenges we would choose to do, although she would always support us! She would say ' why don't we make a weekend of it ?'
So Charlotte, Kate, Tracey and i have decided let's do just that, so on Friday 16th July to Sunday 18th we are going to walk 97.1km ! This is the equivalent of Kilimanjaro just with more Oxygen and less hilly! We are factoring in some celebrity spotting on each day to bring some fun to the walk and finishing with a glass of bubbles in Steph's memory. All money raised from the walk will be donated to See-Saw.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit SeeSaw, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about SeeSaw: Oxfordshire children's charity SeeSaw provides grief support for children and young people following the death of a mum, dad, sister or brother. National statistic indicate that by the age of 16, around 1 in 20 children will have experienced the death of one or both of their parents. Without specialist support at this critical time, many of these young people can face emotional problems later in life.
SeeSaw's aim is to give children in difficulty the support they need to face the future with hope.
