We have started this gofundme for our sister Stephanie who is suffering with a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) which she was first diagnosed with in 2018. This condition is a rare, inherited degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment. RP occurs in 1 in 100,000 people in Australia and as a result, there are no available treatment options in Australia.

Since being diagnosed, Stephanie's vision has continued to deteriorate and at this stage she is limited to tunnel vision and suffers from night time blindness.

Stephanie has her hands full as a mum to our beautiful one year old nephew Jordan and is doing her best to give him her utmost, while continuing to struggle with RP everyday.

Fortunately, we have now discovered newly available treatment based on clinical trials in Europe which use stem cells to slow progression of the condition as well as regenerate vision. This treatment has just come off clinical trials and is only available in Europe. Being the only stem cell treatment available for RP, it is very costly.

Our family want to do all we can to make this possible for Stephanie and improve her overall quality of life for herself and for Jordan.
