Hi y'all!

I wish I wasn't here typing this because I don't like to ask for help, but this is hitting me at a particularly rough time (like many, I'm still struggling to make ends meet despite working as much as I can so any help is appreciated)!

Most of you know me from booking shows in & around San Jose for a long time! A past promoter that I had contact with was outed years ago for physically abusing a friend of mine, and accounts that he had assaulted other young women also circulated. As I personally know more than one person who has endured his misconduct and have no reason to believe the callout was false, I haven't had contact with him since.

However, in 2021 I was alerted that this promoter decided to sue me as well as my friend and other acquaintances in the local scene, accusing us of "defamation" and "slander" for speaking out. I'm hoping to raise the funds needed to conclude my anti-SLAPP suit that contests his suit against us for being frivolous, as this is a form of litigious harassment that people with resources use to silence anyone who tries to speak out.

I hate to ask at this time, but anything will be appreciated with my permanent gratitude. I hope when things are better for me (hopefully soon!) that I'll be able to repay the favor.
