My name is Steph Hoppe, and I am a doctoral student at Oregon State University. I completed the coursework of the higher education administration program within the College of Education and am working on the final phase of the program, the dissertation.
My dissertation is examining the motivational orientation of rural community college students and the relationship to academic achievement and persistence. This topic is significant because it will provide information for educators and administrators to help establish a better understanding of students and strategies that may help students succeed.
The first three chapters of my dissertation are complete, including the introduction, literature review, and methods. In addition, I have gathered data from rural community college students through an online survey. The next step is to analyze the data so I may make recommendations and conclusions. In order to perform the data analyses, I plan to work with a research consultant. The research consultant is a colleague at another community college in the Pacific Northwest who has experience with this research topic as well as structural equation modeling.
Working with the research consultant on performing the data analyses involves the following expenses:
$500 for data cleaning and assumptions testing
$500 for development and testing of structural equation models
$250 for instruction of statistical principles and approaches
$250 for final report
Thank you for your consideration in financially supporting my dissertation research. Also, please let me know if you are interested in this research. I would be happy to share my findings with you once I complete it.
