Our lives were forever changed on July 1, 2017. Dominique, my oldest, had a seizure while alone and stopped breathing which led to an anoxic brain injury leaving her completely disabled. She was in the ICU for over a month and was discharged to a subacute facility mid Sept 2017. As of March 5, 2018 she has been home with me due to issues with the transition from her private insurance to MediCal and the inability to find an appropriate facility. I had to quit my job to care for her in home and I'm now in need of help. I'm going to court for conservatorship soon and the legal fees can be as much as $3000 which I absolutely do not have. I have no income because I did not qualify for unemployment and I'm still waiting on IHSS. I need financial assistance in order to pay rent, bills, buy Nik's supplies, and all other necessities including court fees. Building up the courage to reach out for help is more difficult than I ever imagined it could be. It seems like such a silly thing when you're on the other side providing assistance to the ones you love. Any assistance is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
