Some of you may already know that my father, Stephen, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  In February an amazing surgeon and team of doctors and nurses removed his pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, and part of his stomach.  He survived this intense and complicated 16 hour surgery but is now, as they describe him, a "brittle diabetic."  His doctors have also suggested he have chemo. My  dad is retired and living on a fixed income.  His medical bills and medication costs way exceed the money he has coming in.  This all happened suddenly - the diagnosis, surgery, change in his insurance needs . . . We are applying for different patient assistance programs but in the meantime he needs help. I know my father is incredibly uncomfortable asking for it which is why I am.   All of you are dear friends of Stephen's from way back when and today and any contribution would be so appreciated!!
