Im Stephen, I'm 23, I used to row for the GB team until my back gave out, I struggled with slipped discs!

Since the injury I have not been able to train, haven't had a day pain free and broke my ankle due to poor sensation in my feet... I tried to jump... not the best story.

I need the surgery just to live pain free but am also getting it done to try and achieve my dreams of becoming an Olympian.

The NHS don't offer the surgery so taking a loan and going private was my only option to get this done and in a time frame to compete in the LA Olympics.

It was a £12000 operation until the hospital has stung me with a £5000 hidden fee this morning!
