It is with a heavy heart that I write this today. Stephen “Travis” Eakins, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 2, 2024. Travis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, child, and friend. Two words that describe Travis would be generous and kind. He was always willing to give anything he could to help anyone even give the shirt off his back. Whether that be a helping hand with a transmission or rebuilding a porch, he was at the ready- tool in hand. All children and especially babies adored Travis. He had a sweet calming nature that could calm the most colicky of babies. His love for his grandchildren was deep and unending. His grandson Henry quickly became Travis’ shadow; following him everywhere he went. His granddaughter Zoey delighted in “Pop-Pop”s snuggles. He always did his very best to take care of others, loving them with all that he had.
Travis was loved immensely by his family and friends. His loss has been devastating and his family was not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. He leaves behind a wife and grandchildren who depended on him to help care and provide. His wife Jennifer has been very ill and has faced a lot of physical limitations in the past few years making it difficult to work outside the home. A lot of you have asked how you can help during this difficult time and donations to help the family cover funeral costs would be a tremendous help. Travis deserves a proper memorial and funeral so his family and friends can say their last goodbyes. Please consider donating if you can, as any amount will truly help! We are also asking for prayers for his family during this difficult time now and in the years to come.
Thank you for your consideration!
