Stephen Michael Stahley died from complications of COVID-19 on Friday, January 22nd.  He was only 48 years old.  He leaves behind a 15 year old son, Owen.  We (his siblings- Kim, Bill and Kathy) have been asked to set up a way for donations to be made to benefit Owen, hence this Go Fund Me account.  We would love it if you can share a memory of Steve here for the family to read.


Steve was a talented Landscape Architect and worked most recently for Summers Murphy & Partners.  He was a good and selfless friend to many.  We have heard from those who knew Steve, who described him as funny and kind, a great sounding board and listening ear for all who had need.  He was always good for a quote from a movie or TV show and loved sharing stories or memes with anyone interested (or not so interested). :)  He worked hard to see things from all points of view without a judgmental bone in his body.  He had a soft spot for animals, especially the family dogs.  He was loved by his nieces and nephews, with whom he shared his love for movies and creepy books.


There are so many things that can be said about Steve as a son, a brother, and a friend.  The most important part about Steve is that he loved being a father to Owen.  He enjoyed helping him with his English homework, hanging out on weekends, and considered it his personal duty to guide Owen through the important life-shaping movies of the 80’s.  He will be greatly missed by all.
