Hello my name is Kathleen, myself and my family are reaching out to my brother’s best friends family at a very tragic time. We would like to try and offer the family some support and were hoping to take even a little weight of their shoulders.
Nobody expects to bury a son so young, especially only just 4 months after burying their other son (Stephens brother Scott).
The death of Stephen was completely unexpected and very sudden, Stephen suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage and despite the best efforts from Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, they were unable to save Stephen due to severity of the bleed which left him with no brain function.
Stephen passed away in Scotland and the family are making best efforts to get Stephen home in preparation for his funeral in England which is his home. For this to happen it’s £3,000 alone without the cost of the funeral after he has returned.
Stephen was only 31 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. In recent years, Stephen had become ambitious about having children and he even spoke regularly about fostering children in need. This reflects the kind of person Stephen was, he was a very generous, kind, helpful and a loving young man who would do anything for anyone in their time of need.
Stephen was very passionate about Liverpool Football Club and had a great network of friends that he played with online, alongside his little nephew that he would look out for and protect.
The family would really like to emphasise the importance of young men taking their health seriously and having regular medical check ups to monitor blood pressure levels and recognising the early stages of a stroke. They can’t express enough just how vital these checks are and how these simple tests could have saved Stephen’s life.
I think anyone who reads this can sympathise with what this family are going through and the heartbreaking circumstances they are experiencing, especially when they are still in the process of grieving for the loss of another son in September 2024.
We know the family would be very very grateful at this awfully difficult time and they acknowledge that times are hard for everyone, but even the smallest of help can make a big difference and every share gets this seen for the recognition of the health issues mentioned above.
Thank you for taking the time to read and share this.
Please keep this family in your prayers.
Thank you x
