Stephen & Michelle Blanchette

Hello, my name is Stephanie and on behalf of my family we are creating this page to help my Uncle Steve and his wife Michelle through a very rough time. If you know them personally, you're familiar with their triumphs during life’s trials and tribulations. Michelle suffered a stroke three years ago and with all the medical troubles that followed she is now also afflicted with aphasia. She has re-learned how to talk, worked tirelessly to regain mobility, and gracefully accepted the continuous pursuit to a full recovery; tremendous progress has been made but Michelle is still unable to work due to the lingering effects. For most couples these hurdles would often prove formidable or even insurmountable but through grace, empathy, love and understanding Steve and Michelle have endured these challenges without missing a beat. Stopping here would truly be a success story but it saddens me to pile on with another tragedy that has befallen them.

My Uncle Steve was involved in a head-on collision travelling to work early last Friday morning. A driver travelling in the opposite direction crossed over into his lane impatiently trying to pass flowing traffic. Although my Uncle did everything he could to avoid the collision he was still badly injured. We estimated that the cars collided at over forty-five MPH! Resulting in a broken neck in several places as well as a totaled car leaving my Uncle in a neck brace and out of work. We are optimistic that he will recover and be able to return to work soon, but healing takes time.

It’s always difficult to manage rent, utilities, groceries, and medical expenses when someone is unable to work, having both sources of income stymied unfortunately won’t stop the bills. All donations will go directly towards the living expenses of these very deserving folks.
