Help Raise Money For Stephen’s Funeral
Donation protected
We’d firstly like to thank you for taking time to read about Stephen’s story and any donations we receive towards his funeral. If you can’t donate, it would mean the world if you could share this page.
Stephen passed peacefully in the early hours of Friday 9th May, surrounded by his family and closest friend. He’d been found at home unconscious and unresponsive the evening prior, with a broken collar bone and a few broken ribs. He was rushed to hospital where the CT scan revealed a bleed on the brain that they suspected begun on Sunday after he’d been found with a bang to the head. Sadly, his blood test revealed his platelet level was too low to operate safely, and that even if they did, he’d be left with life changing disabilities.
His sons, sisters, niece and close friend were all by his side, holding his hand as he passed, listening to songs that everyone knew gave him the send off he deserved.
Stephen lost his mum in February, and had been struggling mentally with her passing. Like many of us know, we turn to things to help this suffering and end up in situations we may find hard to climb out of. We don’t want to dismiss this part of Stephen’s passing. We want to acknowledge it and grow from it. For this reason any donations we receive beyond our target will go to the men’s mental health charity. Sometimes talking and reaching out to others is incredibly scary and seems impossible, and we want to help change this.
With his passing being sudden, and with his mum passing just a few months ago, the family don’t currently have the funds to give Stephen a send off he deserves and allow a way for everyone to process the loss.
For anyone who didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Stephen, we want you to know just how quick witted and hilarious his character was and he’d want everyone to find some comfort that’s he’s now at peace and perhaps the most euphoric he’s ever felt.
