Stephany’s Scleroderma Battle

Hi, my name is Ollie and I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my mother Stephany. For the past couple of years, she has been battling systemic scleroderma which is a rare autoimmune disorder that hardens the skin as well as attacking internal organs and the digestive system to a dramatic degree. Since being diagnosed with this disorder, my mother has lost a significant amount of weight, her diet is very limited as her body can no longer tolerate in taking food the same way as a normal body would, causing her to have constant digestive issues as well as pain. She tends to have an abundance of flare ups that cause her to be hospitalized for days to weeks at a time and little to no progress in her health. Throughout this time, she was being taken care of by a private caregiver who not only abused my grandmother, but withheld proper treatment that she needed. Unfortunately, my grandmother had to be hospitalized again last week and her caregiver has made the decision to leave her at the hospital without a home to go to after her release and she will now have to move in with immediate family to be taken care of. We will need a lot of help covering the costs of being able to care for her at home, replace her belongings, and to get my grandmother back on hospice that way we are able to access resources (hospital bed, diapers, gloves, wipes).
