Stephanie's Battle With Cancer Continues...
Donation protected
Hi Friends of Steph & Franny! An update on their situation as of Dec 30, 2023. In September Steph completed her treatments of chemo and radiation and this did help fight the cancer in her body. Then in October they made the big drive from Ontario back to Vancouver and are now staying temporarily with friends while they search for permanent accommodation.
Although the treatments helped, she does have stage 4 uterine cancer and unfortunately it has already started to grow again. Because of this she is now unable to work, has difficulty walking, and even sitting upright can be painful for her. They have moved a bed into their living room so she can recline during the day. Also the cancer is in her bones and to deal with the pain she now takes several doses of morphine on a daily basis. The hopeful news is that she has just completed her first round of immunotherapy treatment! There have been amazing results with this new treatment that was just recently approved for her kind of cancer but it does take time to work. It will be several months before any results are seen.
Amidst all this Franny has his own struggles with his heart issues. There is a promising procedure that he will undergo, but he will have to travel back to Ontario for it and he won’t be able to do that until Steph is back on her feet. So he is working full time, taking care of Steph, and Chloe too, all while dealing with his own health issues.
Their friends have already been so generous, and they want everyone to know how grateful they are. The monies donated to date helped them pay rent and other expenses while she went through chemo and radiation. Her cancer journey is not over though so we just wanted to put the GoFundMe out there again in case anyone is able to help out a little bit more. Hopefully her new treatment will have amazing results but for now she is having a difficult time and any help would be invaluable.
