Life can change in the blink of an eye...
After an anomaly was found during a routine eye exam a few weeks ago, Stephanie's doctor recommended she follow up with an Optic Neurologist for additional testing.
On Monday, October 12, 2015, Stephanie went in for her MRI thinking it was just precautionary. After 45 minutes in the MRI machine and then a very long wait to hear the results, Stephanie's life was turned upside down. She was diagnosed with a grapefruit sized brain tumor.
The Neurologist wasted no time and told her to report to the ER at University of Maryland Medical Center as soon as possible. On Wednesday, October 14, 2015, a little more than 24 hours after her initial diagnosis, Stephanie was prepped and awaiting a 12 hour long surgery to remove the tumor.
Surgery was successful but she has a long road to recovery ahead.
In hopes of lightening the load during this crucial recovery period, we'd like to support Stephanie and her daughter in any way that we can. Many of her family, coworkers and friends have volunteered to help with meals, house hold chores, carpooling and child care etc. In addition to this support, we'd like to also provide financial support for the impending medical bills so that this recovery time can be a stress free as possible.
Thank you for any contribution that you can make and we ask that you please share Stephanie's story!
