Help Stephanie Sancibrian win her battle with AUL!

Donation protected
Lifelong Merced, CA resident, Stephanie Sancibrian, daughter of Mary Ellen DuPertuis, wife of Jeff Sancibrian, beloved mother of Samantha, Alex, Nick & Christian. Grandma to Emma & James, treasured, irreplaceable BEST friend of 36 years to Tiffany McDaniel, and amazingly, caring friend to many others was recently diagnosed with Acute Undifferentiated Leukemia. AUL is an ultra rare, extremely aggressive form of Leukemia, that attacks the stem cells of the bone marrow. Additionally, Stephanie's hematology team found an equally rare, malignant chromosome in the fluid that has continually been filling up her lungs. This chromosome currently has no treatment, other than an upcoming clinical trial in which Stephanie hopes to be included.

Stephanie is currently being treated at Stanford Medical Center, where she has been since her diagnosis at the end of February 2024. The oncology, hematology and most important, nursing team and support staff at Stanford have been beyond wonderful! They have truly become a part of our extended family during this battle and we now can't imagine life without them. Unfortunately, the medical bills have started to pile up and we recently learned that Stanford only contracts with two insurance providers. Neither of them are the provider under which Stephanie is insured. This means that going forward, any care provided by Stanford would be out of pocket for Stephanie and Jeff. This isn't even remotely financially feasible. Stephanie is only in the middle of her second round of chemotherapy, and she has been advised that she will need up to a total of eight rounds within this upcoming year. After chemo has been completed, where the goal is remission, she will need a bone marrow transplant. The bone marrow transplant, is where the curative process kicks in. The stem cells inside the donated bone marrow, along with the clinical trial can and WILL save Stephanie's life!

Now...here is where YOU can help in Stephanie's fight! We absolutely can NOT do this alone! As mentioned above, the medical bills have started to come in and with the deductible and coinsurance amounts due, they are already beyond overwhelming. We are trying to get Stephanie approved for financial assistance, however, that is a long, arduous, process, that remains a future "maybe". Even if approved for financial assistance care at Stanford, there will be continual out of pocket costs as Stephanie will be on an outpatient basis for future chemo treatments. This means fuel, hotel and meal charges for each upcoming course of chemo outpatient treatments. Additionally, Stephanie will need home health care that will also be an out of pocket cost since, at this time, Stephanie does not qualify for state medical assistance. Once we reach the bone marrow transplant and clinical trial for the drug to eradicate the abnormal chromosome in Stephanie's lung, we may need to adjust the fund-raising level to reflect those additional charges.

Please share as far and as often as you can. Any amount given is appreciated, and no amount is too small. If you can't afford to give at this time, that's fine too....just please SHARE THIS CAMPAIGN!

Words can not express our appreciation and gratitude for the time you took to read this, let alone to join us as we help Stephanie Sancibrian KICK CANCER'S ASS!

Thank you doesn't seem like enough, but right now, it's all we've got.

The family and friends of Stephanie Sancibrian.
