Greetings to All –

It is with great sadness that we invite you to support The Johnson Family fundraiser. On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, our beloved Stephanie Johnson, was taken from this earthly world. Stephanie was killed in the aftermath of a hit and run accident, where the assailant fled and Stephanie tragically died, while driving on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago, IL.

Stephanie was a joyous and charismatic mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Stephanie was a loving mother to son, Legend, 8, and daughter, Legacy, 2. Stephanie leaves behind her mother and namesake, Stephanie, and two older sisters. Unfortunately, Stephanie was proceeded in death by her father, Devell Johnson, who passed on September 16, 2023. As a member of the Divine Praise Dance Ministry and Leader of Community Outreach at New Tiberia Baptist Church, Stephanie’s faith, and passion for serving God was prevalent in her life’s work. Stephanie was a God-fearing woman.

Stephanie earned her Associate of Social Science from Worship Mortuary Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Chicago State University. While in-school, Stephanie interned at Chicago’s Power 92.3 Radio Station. Stephanie worked for the Village of Maywood. Then because of her father’s death she became part owner of Johnson’s Funeral home and took on the role as a Funeral Director.

As you can imagine, this unexpected and tragic loss has been devasting for Stephanie’s family. In an effort to alleviate the financial stress during this time, we are asking that you donate to raise funds for Stephanie’s services, along with support to the kids’ care. Stephanie’s children have so much life ahead of them and your support will not only help with her services but create a lasting difference in her children’s lives as they adjust to tragically losing their mother.
