My name is Stephanie Loomis and I really need some help. Normally, I work with kids as a special ed assistant. I also drive for Lyft and do deliveries with Shipt to supplement my income. However, I recently suffered a knee injury and I am unable to work at my primary job as a special ed assistant. I cannot work until my doctor releases me to go back to work. I am also accumulating medical bills due to not having medical insurance. I have never done a GoFundMe before, but I am in desperate need, and I am going under as bills are quickly piling up. Right now, I need to pay my second mortgage by the 22nd and my first mortgage by the 28th. All donations will go toward paying my mortgages, utilities and other monthly bills. Any amount you donate is greatly appreciated, so thank you for taking the time to read this and a big thank you to all who have donated so far. Finally, please share this post/link with others. Thanks again!
It is a long story, but my first challenge was I had a mortgage on a rental property I owned, and it came due last year. It was an interest only private loan, and there was no more equity left to refi the property again, so I had to sell it last year as a result. The rent I had been collecting was my main source of income every month besides my jobs.
So, after selling the property and paying all the real estate fees and taxes, there wasn't much leftover profit for me.
The profit from the sale has run out, and I am trying to find a second job to make up for my shortfall.
On top of this, I slipped and fell in my garage the last week in September, and inverted my knee. I was in a lot of pain. I went to the ER, and the ER doctor said I have two small fractures on two of my bones that are around the knee area. They gave me a removable walking cast to immobilize my leg. It is still swollen and painful, but I am getting better. I am scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon in October. According to the ER doctor, it is going to take at least six weeks to heal, but I will have more information and a clearer diagnosis once I see the orthopedic surgeon.
Unfortunately, because of the knee injury, I cannot work my primary job with the school district. I have to be on my feet a lot for work, and it just wouldn't be good for me to do that until I am released from the orthopedic surgeon and he gives me permission to go back to work.
I am currently doing gig work (Lyft and Shipt), but it doesn't pay for all that I need. I am able to pay for gas, food for me, and food for my pets, and a couple of small bills.
So, in the meantime, my bills are piling up. I am behind on my first and second mortgage on my home and they need to be paid, or I could be looking at forclosure in November. I had to ask the utility company for assistance so my lights wouldn't be turned off. I also don't know what may also be going on in my knee and how much that is going to cost from the ER visit, doctor's visits, any other prescribed therapy, etc.
Also, in case anyone is wondering, no, I don't have health insurance. I have to pay for it out of pocket and I just can't afford it right now.
It is very humbling to ask help from total strangers. I am doing everything I can to get back on my feet. Not having the monthly rental income has been a big change for me. However, I am thankful for my job and I love working with the kids and I am hopeful for the future.
Like I said, I am looking for a second job to help increase my income. In the meantime, I just need some help to keep myself afloat and a roof over my head. I honestly don't know how long this is going to take for me to get back on my feet, but I am hoping it is sooner rather than later.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any amount you decide to give is much appreciated.
Just so you know, all money donated will be used for monthly essentials: mortgage, utilities, car insurance, doctor's visits, etc.
Thank you and God bless.
