Stephanie & Jeff Albers House Fire

Never again do I want to wake up to a text at 1:57am from someone I love that says, "My house is on fire."

So glad my sister (Stephanie Albers), brother-in-law (Jeff Albers) & 2 nephews (Chevy & Remy Albers) made it out of their house SAFELY on Labor Day morning, but they essentially lost all of their possessions, including one of their dogs who wasn't able to make it out & all of their birds. Their house sustained severe damage & my family is going to be displaced for months. Their dog, Smokey, is currently on multiple medications to assist with his lungs from the smoke inhalation, his eyes which are red from the inflammation, etc.

Thank you SO MUCH to all of their friends & our family that showed up & stepped in to help however they could thus far! We have received a good amount of summer and fall clothes for everyone. We have received backpacks for the boys who just went back to school on Tuesday. We went grocery shopping for them to get through this first week at least.

They are currently living in a 1 bedroom hotel until we can find a more permanent housing situation for them-- at which point they will be starting from scratch with everything-- food, furniture, appliances, kitchen supplies, books, crafts & toys for the boys, winter coats and boots, etc. We had just celebrated Remy's 3rd birthday last month-- all of his brand new toys are gone-- many hadn't even had the chance to be taken out of the package yet!

No donation is too big or too small, and is appreciated more than you could possibly know. They are very active in Fond Du Lac and surrounding communities-- through multiple charity groups, Habitat for Humanity, Fond du Lac Noon Kiwanis, Leadership Fond du Lac Alumni Empty Bowls, etc.
