Update as of February 4th- Just talked to the pulmonary hypertension team. Not the greatest news. We will be here for 2 months at least. They are starting nitrous oxide in hopes that it will help pinpoint where the hypertension, if it's a problem getting blood from the heart to the lungs or the lungs back to the heart. If it is the latter, then possibly will have to talk about a transplant. He said ultimately this will kill her. We just don't know when yet bc we don't know on which side the problem lies. Best case scenario it's the kind that can be treated with medication and it will buy her years.

Update as of February 3rd- Ava has been transferred to Houston. Mom has flown via Care Flight with Ava and dad is driving to Houston.

As of January 31st:
On behalf of Stephanie and Jason, I (Jessica Haecker) have set up a GoFundMe to help with the funds of medical and everyday expenses such as rent, gas, food, electricity bills, phone bills, etc. Both parents are unable to work right now as they continue to be at the bedside of their 4-year-old daughter, Ava.
If you have ever met Ava, you know how sweet and loving she is- takes after her mama. Biggest heart you’ll ever meet. If you have never met Ava, I can promise you, when you finally do, you will fall in love with her. She is so full of life and will bring joy to your life.
At this moment, Steph and Jason need all the help they can get so they aren’t stressed about funds. Here is Ava’s story posted by Steph via Facebook:

"God I'm down here on my knees, because it's the last place left to fall."
It has been a journey to say the least, but I never would have thought it would have landed us here. As my best friend reminds me that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", my parents also remind me to Let Go and Let God. "If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to support that child's parent"-Ann Douglas. Let me tell you that I've come to see first how how absolutely amazing and strong, and giving our " village" is.

Some of you know what's been going on, others may not. As I sit here staring at my baby girl with my worries weighing heavily on my heart, I feel the right thing to do is share Ava's journey because I know this baby girl has so many people in her corner from family to friends to outright strangers. All of which have come together in so many ways to show support not only for ava but for myself and my husband as well.
Ava was admitted to the Pediatric intensive care unit at Methodist children's hospital here in San Antonio. She's been battling an illness that prompted a few different doctors visits during the past week, the last of which revealed her enlarged heart. While seeing the cardiologist yesterday, he informed us that she was in heart failure and needed to be admitted immediately. Main concern is pulmonary hypertension
The right side of her heart is double the size than her left side. It has put immense pressure on the right side as well as on her lungs.
Today she will be intubated and a ct scan will be done to double check that her heart is anatomically correct (all the veins and arteries). On Monday they will put her out again and do a heart catheter to measure how much pressure is in her heart and lungs.

Just about an hour ago the nurses woke me up and also informed me
Ava tested positive for influenza b. The viral illness is not good for her already weak heart, so once again I'm calling all prayer warriors to lift Ava up in prayer that the Lord will take her into his healing hands and do what he does best..
I am positively floored, touched and overwhelmed with gratitude with the amount of prayers, kind and hopeful words,. And offers to help in anyway that is humanly possible.

If you have read this far, please find it in your heart to continue to pray! If you able to help donate, please do so. Please share so we can help this beautiful family out.
