Hello my name is Stephanie, I am 48 years old. I am a wife and a mother. I had a physical September 2020 along with a mammogram. Everything came back fine, but in October of 2020 I found a lump in my right breast. I went back to my doctor and he felt that since the mammogram was okay then there was nothing to worry about. My mind would not rest so I had him to refer me to a breast surgeon for further test. On November 23rd I had a biopsy, on November 25th the day before Thanksgiving it came back positive for breast cancer. It is stage two invasive ductal carcinoma. I started chemo December 9th. I finished my chemo March of 2021. April of 2021 I decided to have a double mastectomy due to the fact that my mammogram was not correct and I was fearing that I would never trust one again. As of now I am going through radiation I had a total of 28 treatments. I will continue to go through infusion therapy and injections for a while. On Friday July 2nd I was terminated from my position as a factory worker. I am not able to work right now since my doctor wants me to continue the treatments and not return to work until early 2022. My husband carries me on his insurance which is very expensive and is a high deductible. We make too much money to get any kind of assistance. But it is not enough since our insurance is very high.
Thank you,
Stephanie Cable
