Stephanie & Family

Hi my name is Lynne and I am asking for help for my Daughter Stephanie as she navigates a very heart-breaking time as her husband Alan was Killed in Action.

Back Story:

Stephanie and Alan met 14 years ago and have a Daughter together, she also has 2 older children from previous relationships who became the step children of Al once they married in 2017.

Alan has always struggled with his mental health and had a lot of demons that made him feel unworthy. Stephanie and his closest friends tried their hardest to help him through it and show him how loved he really was, however due to an incident at the beginning of the year relating to stresses placed on him by his former employer his mental health spiralled out of control. He was then also let go by the employer. Due to this Alan made the decision to go abroad and join an army in Ukraine to help fight in the war. This was not a decision that Stephanie, his family or friends wanted for him however he had made his mind up and nothing was going to stop him.

He left the UK on 7th May and was in constant contact with his family while he was going through training and seemed to mentally be in a better place than he had been in a long time. He then informed Stephanie he was being sent on a mission, he last had contact with her on 2nd July 2025 and the mission was meant to last for 3 days. However as the 3 days passed and then there was still no contact she decided to do some research and found out that missions can last longer than expected some upto 30 days. This made her feel a little at ease.

Then her world was shattered when on 15th July 2025 a member of Al's unit sent her a text message to say that she had information on her husband and could she ring her. She informed her that they had lost contact with Al on 14th July 2025 and he was officially listed as Missing in Action, however based on reports they believed he was Killed. She also informed her that an official would be in touch shortly to explain more and help her through everything. This call never came and she was left in Limbo not knowing what had happened and if this was even true.

So she then started to reach out to anyone she could on any platform she could to find out information and try and understand what happened to Al. She had people over there helping trying to get the information she needed to process everything. Then on 30th July 2 weeks after the initial call she was contacted by one of Al's friends who was on the mission with him and witnessed what had happened to him. The news Stephanie so hoped wasn't true unfortunately was confirmed and Alan had passed away on 14th July 2025 while on a mission to help fellow soldiers in need.

As you can imagine trying to navigate this whole situation emotionally and financially when becoming a single mum with only one income. As Al is listed as Missing in Action currently due to them being unable to retrieve his body to declare him officially Killed in Action there is no help Stephanie can have financially in the UK and we don't know how long this process will take.

We want to help take some of the stress away by raising money towards rent, bills, food and also any possible legal expenses she may have due to him being overseas. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated at this difficult time.
