Stephanie Cervantes and Family Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Selena. I am speaking on behalf of my sister and her immediate family. If you found this page accidentally, feel free to skip to the next paragraph for details. If you are a friend or family, I thank you for taking the time to consider donating. Help with whatever you can! Even a share on social media means the world. We appreciate any support! Proceeds will go to Stephanie Cervantes and her family. Donations will be allocated to any necessary medical expenses while Stephanie transitions from hospital to inpatient and finally to her home to continue recovery and therapy. With your help, my mother and I can more effectively fill the void in her children's lives while Stephanie recovers.
Two Saturdays ago, in the early morning of the 17th of September, the lives of Stephanie Cervantes and my family of 9 were destroyed by two cars that purposely ran a red light. Stephanie was on the way home from the airport after picking up her cousin Laura and Laura's daughter Layla, but when the trio crossed an intersection on the way home, they were crashed into and sent into a spiral. Two cars callously attempted and failed to race but devastatingly succeeded in running a red light and propelling the lives of countless people into disarray. The mother of 4 is now in the hospital with multiple injuries; Laura and her daughter were spared and are at home recovering from this traumatic experience. Stephanie is left bed bound and immobile on her left side after being struck by the reckless drivers that caused the crash. Her physical injuries were exacerbated by the terrifying experience of being trapped in the cabin of her car. The collision left Stephanie crushed under the vehicle's weight, where she waited in agonizing pain for 20 minutes, left only with her thoughts and commotion of the resulting tragedy. First responders arrived on the scene to rescue the increasingly hopeless mother just as the crumpled vehicle began to leak gasoline. Stephanie was freed in time and rushed to a hospital to be poured into multiple surgeries, narrowly evading a fate I can't bare thinking about. She suffered numerous fractures, clean breaks and dislocations but fights daily to be back with her family.
We had no idea the shoes we'd be stepping in while my sister was incapacitated. With your help, we can minimize the impact two poor inconsiderate souls have caused. Until these parties are held responsible for their actions, we are using funds we usually reserve for accidents of fate, and this is not that. I assure you we are working tirelessly to maintain the safe space that Stephanie has built for her kids, my nieces and nephew, but the medical expenses that come with recovery may last a lifetime. Until we can rectify this horrid turn of events, we ask you for help. When we see a better day, to compensate you for your generosity, we will make it up to you... most likely with food and music!
