Stephanie and Corey home fire recovery

I have had the absolute joy of working with Stephanie for the past few years, and was heartbroken to hear that she arrived home on May 14 to find her townhome burning because of a fire that started in their neighbor’s unit. Fortunately, her family (including their dog) all made it out safely. But they have lost absolutely everything they own.

After I heard the news, I got home and looked around at all of the things I use in my life and imagined having to replace them all at once. Just the thought was overwhelming, so I can only imagine what Stephanie and her family are going through.

They have been staying in a hotel for now, which they’re having to pay for out of pocket because their insurance won’t cover that. They have renters insurance, but that will only get them so far. What they really need is some financial support to get back on their feet so that they can get new housing as soon as possible and start the long (and expensive) process of replacing everything the lost.
