On the early afternoon of December 1st, 2019, we received a phone call that no one wants to receive. Once again, our family’s lives turned upside down. Stephan Vicente, the oldest of three boys to my sister in law Tina Haas-Healey tragically, passed away at the age of 31. In an instant, with no warning, the day turned dark, and everything in our lives forever changed. Four years prior, we would face another tragedy Tina’s middle son, Andrew Vicente brother to Stephan and their father, Tina’s ex-husband Walter Vicente was murdered. No parent should have to bury two sons with a short amount of time from one another. During this challenging time, we cannot even prepare our hearts or comprehend how also to face this tragedy, let alone losing a child is the loneliest most desolate journey a person can take; it’s a loss like no other.
Stephan had a whole future ahead of him, he had such a strong presence in life when he walked into a room people noticed. He had a big heart, unconditional love for his family, a special bond between his two brothers Andrew and Skyler, he made everyone laugh, he was an entrepreneur and always driven to make money. Stephan touched the lives of those around him, we are devastated not only of his passing but not being able to be prepared financially to cover funeral expenses. We want to give Stephan the memorial he deserves to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
I am reaching out and asking on behalf of our families for donations to help cover the cost. Please consider donating as any amount will truly help our family during this challenging time. Please remember that the thing about life; it is fragile, precious, and unpredictable, and each day is a gift, not a given right. Tell your loved ones you love them every time you get the chance and love them with everything you have. Stephan always would say, “May I always be remembered for what I’ve done but not for what I haven’t.”
Thank you sincerely from our families to yours.
