Update 2/5/24

Here we are in February – almost 3 months since the accident! A few more months to go but things are progressing.
We had a scare a few weeks ago when Steve developed blood clots in his legs and right lower lung. Fortunately, we caught it and things are under control, but we are watching closely!
Steve is still non-weight bearing on his legs but starts outpatient land therapy and hydrotherapy tomorrow in the pool. As Steve is still wheelchair bound, being in the pool decreases the weight bearing and allows him to work the muscles he can’t when confined to the chair.
We are all eagerly anticipating spring when he’s able to get outside. His goal is to do estimates within the next month or two so please give him a call!
He’s hoping to be back to work (with his crew) by April/May. While climbing will be further away, the lift will help get him back into his happy place - the trees.
Steve’s long-term goal is to climb again, but he knows there’s a long road ahead to get there. Thankfully, he has his lift.
The continued support from our community and friends continues to amaze us and allows us to focus what’s most important right now – Steve's recovery. We’re thankful for the donations, gift cards, meals and visits – they mean so much to everyone in our family and helps make this challenging time a bit easier. Hearing from everyone gives him the drive and hope that he’ll soon be out of the chair and on his feet so please keep the calls and visits coming!
Thank you again for all your continued support!

1/3/24 UPDATE
Update from the family:

Happy New Year! We are tremendously grateful for everyone's donations and support. We would like to thank our community, family, and friends for everything that you all have done.

It is almost 7 weeks since Steve's accident. Steve's surgeries are behind him now and he is on the road to recovery, but he will not walk for the next several months. Being such an active outdoorsman, it has been emotionally and physically difficult to be wheelchair bound. Sadly, we had to put down our handsome boy Sherman at age 11. Steve has been amazing throughout all of this.

Over the next several months Steve will go through rigorous physical therapy to regain his strength in both legs. Anyone who knows Steve knows that whatever goals his doctors have set, Steve will put his mind to it. There is no doubt he will crush those goals! If anyone can come back from this it is Steve!

He is looking forward to getting back into the trees! He will be back.

The next few months will be a challenge on so many levels. Every day he is better - this would not have happened without having such support behind him. We truly appreciate you all and wish you a happy and safe new year.

We appreciate every text, phone call, visit and prayer for us during this time and would love for this to continue as it does great things for our family's well being and Steve.

Grateful beyond words,

The Repoza Family

12/5/23 UPDATE
Steve is hanging in there. It’s been a very painful process so far. Two surgeries down, two to go. Wednesday 12/6 he will have a major surgery to reconstruct his right leg. His spirits are good and he is keeping positive. His care at The Elliot has been wonderful. He won’t be able to walk for 6 months, and estimated to be out of work for a year. We are extremely grateful for all of the emotional support and generosity.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!- The Repozas

UPDATE FROM THE FAMILY:
Thank you all so much, we are grateful and overwhelmed with all the generosity. Steve continues to recover in the hospital, 1 surgery down, right now 3 more to go. The tree uprooted with Steve in it and Steve went down attached to the tree. He crushed both heels, ankles, his left leg and right tibia. Multiple reconstruction will be necessary. He will be in the hospital for the next few weeks and then will move to rehab. We continue to take it one day at a time.
Thank you for all your kind words and encouragement as we move ahead. Hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving!

On November 16, Steve suffered a devastating fall while working. He will need many surgeries and months of rehab. This leaves the family without income and with many medical bills to pay.
Please find it in your heart to give what you can, and leave some encouraging words as well.
Steve Repoza has cut trees in almost every yard in this town. We all rely on his expertise to take down tricky limbs and trees. He is well known and well respected. He works hard for his wife Beth, and their daughters Molly and Megan.
When his wife Beth is not busy running the business, she is volunteering with every organization in town. She drives people to medical appointments, raises funds for families in need, and donates time to the Library. She is always helping others.
Almost everyone in town knows this wonderful family, and now they need our help.

All monies collected will go directly to the family.
