Hi , I am a coworker of Colter, Steph's fiance.
We all felt so bad when we heard of what had happened to Steph.
We decided to start this fundraiser(with their permission), to help with medical bills and lost wages.
Lets show them some love to help ease the financial burden from this accident.
Synopsys from Colter : We both woke up at 3 am Monday, April 25th, because one of the dogs
had an accident. I went downstairs to grab cleaning supplies and a trash bag. I
ran back upstairs, and Steph had cleaned up the mess. She put everything in the
trash bag, and I brought it outside to the garbage can. I came back
inside and went to the restroom. That's when I heard the thudding of Steph
falling down the steps. I opened the bathroom door, and she was lying
at the base of the steps. She was unconscious, with a small pool of blood slowly
forming behind her head. I was able to wake her up and proceeded to wrap her head with a
towel and stabilize her neck with another rolled-up towel. I got her dressed.
She was capable of understanding simple instructions at this point. I then
proceeded to carry her to my pick-up to go to the ER. She was in
the ER until about 9-10 am that morning. They transferred her to the ICU
where she stayed for a couple of days, and then she was transferred to the
neurological floor of the hospital. The total stay was just shy of a week.
They discharged her Saturday, April 30th to go home. While at the
hospital, she had 7 staples put in the back of her head. After a few scans CT
and MRI they found a hematoma and a hemorrhage in her head, a blood clot
in her jugular, and a skull fracture. The Docs said they couldn't prove if the
clot was pre or post-injury. Steph as little to no memory of what had
happened. According to her, she remembers going to bed that evening (Sunday)
and waking up in the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
She is now recovering at home. She has not been cleared medically to return to work at this point.
