Help Steph Reach a Pipe Dream
IF YOU’RE HERE BC YOU SCANNED MY QR CODE AT THE NYC MARATHON, WELCOME!
I’m still raising money for both marathons, NYC, and Boston; you can check my story below!

This is the year I reach a dream over 15 years in the making, and I’m doing it through two great charity organizations. Read about it below:
If we learned anything about 2020 it’s that time is a construct. But more to the point, time is limited, and we don’t know for how long. So when life throws that perfect pitch, you better swing for the fences.
This year I’ve been given the opportunity to fill both a dream and a pipe dream. Ever since I became a long distance runner, both the Boston Marathon and the NYC Marathon have been on my radar. NYC I’d hoped to do once I moved here, but life (and a ton of foot and ankle injuries) had other plans for me. And Boston... I knew I would never qualify. My body was just not built to run like that – not that fast and not for that long. A heartbreaking realization, but one I’d come to terms with years ago.
Then a little email back in June happened. Charity organizations were being given spots that they could use to help raise money for their efforts to rebuild after more than a year of people just not being able to donate like they could. And if you pledged to raise a certain amount for whatever charity you chose, you would get a guaranteed spot.
So, thanks to New York Road Runners’ Team For Kids, and the Boston Fire Dept’s Relief Fund, I’ve been given that chance. In both races.
I just need to raise $10,000.
I have been given a minimum goal of $2,600 for NYRR (GOAL MET!!!), and a minimum goal of $7,500 for BFD. Goals that I not only believe are attainable, but worth it, considering what the money goes towards (see below).
Please consider donating to not only help me achieve dreams I never thought I would get to see, but to also help organizations like these rebuild after a devastating year of uncertainty. You can visit my individual pages for each race to donate to them directly, or you can make a donation here, and the money will be split 75/25, accordingly.
Please note, I set my goal below the minimum because I fully expect some people to donate directly to my pages (links provided below). If I meet this goal, I'll raise the minimum.
Thank you for your time.

The mission of the Relief Fund is to improve the health and wellness of members of the Boston Fire Department by subsidizing the cost of cancer screening and cardiovascular tests that are not covered by the department.
Funds raised by Team for Kids members support NYRR youth and community programs. This includes Rising New York Road Runners, NYRR’s youth program and events platform. Through school-based programs, youth events, and a collection of digital resources, Rising New York Road Runners brings free running and fitness programs to students across the country.
***Please note that any donations made here cannot be used as tax write offs for the organizations listed. If you would like to be able to write off your donation, please make a donation directly to the organizations using my profile pages.
