Stephanie Leonard is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and wonderful friend to so many around her.
She is married to Jeremy Leonard and has 2 beautiful children, Reese and Weston. In April of 2018 she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. She went through 16 rounds of chemotherapy as well as a bilateral mastectomy and lymph node dissection. Steph was in remission until May of 2020. At that time an MRI revealed several small tumors had metastasized to her brain and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. In June of 2020 Steph endured 10 rounds of full brain radiation which left her very fatigued and with daily headaches. In October of 2020 she was admitted to the hospital due to swelling of her brain, a terrible side effect of radiation. Again in November she was admitted for several days due to terrible side effects from chemotherapy.
Last December Steph started seeing a Brain Cancer Specialist at Mayo Clinic who is collaborating with her amazing team in Omaha. She is starting a new Chemotherapy this week which will target the tumors. We are so thankful that she was able to get into Mayo Clinic as they will be trying a new drug that is much more targeted directly to the tumors with minimal side effects.
Steph loves her job as a Speech Therapist but after much consideration she decided to take a leave of absence last September so she can focus on healing and her family. We have had several requests from family and friends asking how they can help so we will use this page to keep you updated on her health, let you know how you can specifically pray for her and her family and provide financial support for them if you desire.
Steph is a strong, courageous fighter. Jeremy and Steph are so thankful for all of your support and prayers during this time.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
