If you’re lucky enough to know our beautiful friend Steph, you already know she is one of those rare people that brings joy and laughter to everyone she loves. As many of you know she is facing a difficult challenge that no young person should ever have to endure. After months of misdiagnosis, on her 29th birthday she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Astrocytoma - a rare and challenging form of brain cancer. This diagnosis has turned Steph’s life upside down, bringing uncertainty of what the future holds.

Surgery, medication, and rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy were the start of her journey, and throughout it all she has remained a brave, fearless, and strong Mammy to her two beautiful girls; Isla and Layla.

Steph’s condition continues to be complex, and since her diagnosis she is now currently paralysed on the left side of her body. Steph’s wish is to be able to return home to her family with constant care, so that she can cherish her time with her family and friends. After lots of persuasion she has now agreed to a fundraiser being set up to help fund; the adaptations that need to be made to her home before she returns, and to help the family adjust to Steph’s new life.
