Tige’s StemCellTherapy-Severe brain damage from birth injury

Tige suffered a birth injury, he was born not breathing due to complications during the birth
It took 12 minutes to resuscitated Tige and he was put on therapeutic cooling due to having seizures
Tige was rushed to a tier 3 hospital to be placed in intensive care
We was told to spend as much time as possible with him and prepare for the worst as they believed his other organs began to fail
On day 8 Tige had an MRI showing what they thought
Tige has severe brain damage and his brain stem showing changes either being negative or positive we are still unaware
The MRI showing Tige being highly likely that he wouldn’t breathe on his own, walk, talk, have global development delay potential cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
Tige kept fighting and on day 10 he was taken off the ventilator not expecting to be able to breathe on his own due to his brain damage and he showed us how strong he is! He was placed on breathing support awaiting for him to open his eyes which he did at 2 weeks old and now showing no organ failure
Tige spent 6 weeks in intensive care and 12 weeks in high dependency before finally being discharged home proving a lot of people wrong
He was diagnosed with Grade 3 HIE Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy - this is a lack of oxygen to the brain resulting in severe brain damage
Tige has low muscle tone which affects his whole body. This leaves him unable to suck, swallow, smile, laugh, he struggles to hold his head up and hasn’t met any milestones yet.
Tige is now 6 months old and still fighting
He is tube fed due to not being able to suck or swallow and needing a lot of suctioning using a catheter to suction his nose and mouth to remove saliva as he is of high risk of aspiration this is done by myself, his dad and my dad
There is no cure for Tige’s brain damage but we have to have hope and keep fighting with him.
We have been doing a lot of research since Tige’s birth and we have found some hope in Stem Cell Therapy alongside extra intensive physio therapy
We have found a clinic that would accept Tige and he would receive umbilical cord stem cells from a donor
It is impossible to repair damaged brain tissue but the purpose of this therapy would be to enhance the healthy cells so his brain can make alternative pathways to further any development.
The clinic we have found have been doing stem cell treatments for 20 years and they have seen other children with similar disabilities as Tige and the treatment has been able to improve cognition and motor skills.
We are just hoping to give Tige this opportunity as any gain will significantly increase his quality of life
It is important we start this as early on in his life as possible to maximize his chances of improving developmentally and living a longer life
The stem cell treatment is private and it is also required to have intensive physio after the therapy. We have been recommended to have a second and potentially a third round of stem cells around 6 months after the first treatment. This is expected to cost around £30,000
We don’t expect to receive anywhere near the expected cost but we would be forever grateful to anyone who might be able to help us get Tige this treatment and potentially improve his quality of life
Any money we raise would be exclusively used to fund Tige’s treatments, if we exceed the goal we will use the remaining to carry on with therapies.

Thank you
Kerry, Ceejay, Conell & Tige ♥️
