STEM Tutoring Program at Siena Youth Center

My name is Natasha Bamdad, and I recently founded a STEM tutoring Program at the St. Francis Siena Youth Center located in Redwood City, California. The Siena Youth Center is a non-profit program of the St. Francis Center whose focus is on offering youth a positive, safe, happy place to become or stay healthy, interact with others in the community, receive mentorship, and provide leadership. After having worked closely with these students for over a year, I have witnessed first-hand the remarkable potential within each of these young students. Every time I see them, I see their curiosity spark, their eagerness to understand the world, and their undaunted spirit of inquiry. However, I have noticed a gap that stands between their bright minds and their futures ahead: a lack of adequate resources and opportunities in STEM education.
STEM education equips young minds like these with critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity. It opens doors to some of the fastest-growing sectors and rewarding careers and gives our young people the tools they need to thrive in the 21st century successfully, but despite its importance, access to quality STEM education and tutoring remains limited. Many of our students, who have such great potential, are missing out on these opportunities, and I am a firm believer that it's our collective responsibility to change this.
That's why I am fundraising to enhance STEM resources in our local classrooms. The funds raised will go towards purchasing educational and technological resources such as laptops, a projector, science equipment, educational platforms, etc. Our goal is to ensure that every child in our community has access to the kind of STEM education they need to reach their full potential.
I have high hopes and know they will have such bright futures. Every little contribution you choose to make will play an essential role in shaping the future of our younger generations and will empower them with the knowledge and skills they need to fulfill their dreams. We can make a significant difference, one that will resonate for generations to come.
Please join us in building a brighter, better future for our students.
