STEM Education Access Outreach

Hi!

My name is Richard Perrine, and I’m a passionate STEM educator with 20+ years of experience. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to educating students and training teachers within STEM. I have always pursued my passion for innovation and reinvention in order to create quality STEM content so that students are introduced to and exposed to industry standard and evolving skills that are important for today’s growing technical jobs. Now, I’m taking my mission further by creating free, accessible STEAM content for educators, students, and communities who are also committed to free and open access to quality STEM resources—especially those in under-served and marginalized communities. I strongly feel that no child should be neglected and their opportunities limited because of circumstances beyond their control. Unfortunately, too many have been and continue to be. Please help me promote change and provide access to education for some of our most vulnerable children.

The Vision

I want to reach out to under-served communities and develop & teach:

Virtual Reality (VR) Experiences: Immersive standalone and PCVR educational experiences. Including experiences involving science, engineering, architecture, and gaming.

Engineering Projects: Hands-on, project-based learning projects with accompanying worksheets, assessments, and guides which involve electronics & engineering. Arduino. CAD. Design & Fabrication. Science.

Programming Projects: Foundational lessons in Java, Python, and C# for game and VR development. Advanced projects involving AI and machine learning.

Information and guidance to sustainable resources to help maintain STEM programs.

The Need

To realize this vision, I need to raise $5,000 to acquire a high-performance computer capable of handling VR development, 3D modeling, rendering, and content creation. Key components include:

Other miscellaneous components (cables, etc.)
