Dear all,
I, Tibor Tompa write you today, for an important cause in my life.
In a month, I will celebrate my 35th birthday in Luxembourg, enjoying comfortable life and career in Western Europe.
Nevertheless, my celebration will not be only about joy and happiness, as looking back at where I am now, I always remember about where it all started. My journey commenced in a primary school 196 in Kyiv , Ukraine.
Apart from English, German, great math, what helped and helps me a lot in my European career, this school gave me probably the most important, to be a person, with open-mind and eagerness to learn, build and stand up for my opinion.
Despite the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the school has not closed its doors. Teachers and pupils alike are showing immense resilience in the face of adversity. One of the teachers is my mother, who stayed in Kyiv and continues her pedagogical service for 37th year. From 1.000 pupils, 700 stay in Kyiv, quiet often spending morning and afternoon in cellar, each having 60 cm to place themselves during missile attacks.
Nevertheless, we are all convinced in one thing persistence and great cause will always prevail over darkness.
I am asking for your support in raising 7.000 EURO for a IT-STEM class, that will equip the school with two 3D printers, 10 3D pens, a STEM toolkit and VR headset. This class will help young pupils to learn how to apply their theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems in complex world in a meaningful and creative way.
I have personally donated 1.500 EURO to kick-start the fundraising campaign, I am now counting on your support to help me reach the remaining 5.500 EURO needed to achieve our goal. With you help we can provide the children in Ukraine with a brighter future and broader perspectives.
The campaign will run until May 13 th, 2023. With your help we can make sure that the materials are acquired and the class is set up before the school year closes end of June.
Thank you for your support and for joining me in making a difference in the lives of these children.
Sincerely,
Tibor Tompa
