Stem Cells for Benson
Donation protected
Friends,
We are within the final 2-week stretch for taking Benson to Panama for what could be life changing stem cell therapy. Over Benson’s 17-month life, we constantly receive the question “how can we help” and this is how: We are looking to raise $15,000 to cover the cost of the stem cell treatment.
What is HIE? Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) is a type of brain damage that occurs when an infant’s brain doesn’t receive enough oxygen and blood.
Benson suffered not only one, but likely two events without oxygen, just before and during delivery. He survived a very traumatic birth and continues to defy the developmental odds. His life is an inspiration to us all.
We have spent the past year researching stem cells along with other alternative treatments to help our son. We specifically chose this particular stem cell clinic for it’s track record of safety and efficacy. We’ve spoken with other families of brain injured children who have made significant gains after treatment. We were told by doctors Benson would likely never eat, walk, or talk. And more recently that he has a moderate risk of passing away in his sleep. Stem cell therapy offers the potential to significantly improve his long-term outcome.
Faith in God and love for our son will lead us forward along with support of family and friends. It is with a humble spirit and the promise of careful stewardship we ask for your help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The Huths
