Hello, my name is Kathy. I found out in September of 2022 that I have an aggressive form of Multiple Myeloma Leukemia. It came on in the most aggressive stage and there is no cure for it, but there is a way to put it into remission. Which is a STEM CELL REPLACEMENT, and I have been approved for this procedure at UC San Francisco! I am very excited to have the chance to extend my life for several years while they look for ways to cure this cancer! Due to the sensitivity of this procedure, my daughter and I will have to be back and forth between San Francisco and home for the next couple of months, which is about 3.5-4 hours each way.  We will have the expenses of staying in San Francisco for a week while they harvest the Stem Cells; then returning for two weeks while they transplant them back into my body. Once I can return home, I will need 24-hour care for 2-4 weeks depending on how quickly my body recovers from this procedure. Plus returning weekly for check-ups.
