A massive thank you to all who have supported with my journey so far in fighting motor neurone disease MND - ALS which I was diagnosed with over 2 years ago.

Background to fund raiser for those who need information - Unfortunately, sometime in July 2022, I tried reaching for a bag of groceries on top of a fridge and noticed that I had some issues as I was trying to get items at height. I also struggled to reach objects at a distance which I thought was due to a lack of physical activity.

I decided to visit a physiotherapist who examined me. The physiotherapist advised getting an appointment to see a neurologist at Cambridge Adden brokes hospital.

After tests and consultation, I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease - ALS.

MND - ALS is a life debilatating disease causes progressivley leads muscle weakness and wasting https://www.mndassociation.org/. MND - ALS affects all muscle/ mobility functions as small as using your household cutlery, shaving, walking up a flight of stairs and lifting a glass of water become extremely hard/cumbersome to do which I currently experience.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for MND/ALS at this time. The only treatment options available are experimental, with stem cell therapy being one of the most promising options. However, this therapy is not available in the UK and can be quite costly.

How your support has helped

I set-up a goFundMe campaign for stem cell therapy (with a £31,000 target) for stem cell therapy in Frankfurt, Germany which started December 2022. There was great support and response through which I was able to raise about £29,000 which was used for stem cell therapy (10 infusion therapies in Frankfurt every 3 months for 2 years) at a research institute where I just finished my last infusion treatment session in November 2024.

I also pursued stem cell therapy at a medical centre in Beijing, China for 2 weeks in March 2024. Below, you’ll find some pictures from my time at the Wu Medical Stem Cell Centre in China.

While there is no cure, the treatments have helped slow the progression of the disease, and I am deeply grateful for this result. That said, my condition has continued to deteriorate, and I now experience challenges with mobility. Two years ago, I could walk without issue. Today, I struggle to take even 30 steps without fatigue and weakness.

I really can not imagine what my condition would be without the stem cell therapy and support from everyone.

Next phase for treatment

After a recent assessment, it was concluded that the German course of treatment was more effective than the therapy in China. Because of this, I’m now seeking your support once again to continue the fight

I crave your indulgence again to raise £50,500 for further treatment in Germany to continue with the therapy. This fund raising will enable me to access a more intensive stem cell therapy package.

I have been given a breakdown of costs being 34,000 euros (for 8 infusions and stem cell cultivation via double liposuction) and additional 2,250 euros for each of the remaining 12 infusions over the next 2years (27,000 euros) with a total cost being 61,000 euros.

Double liposuction is a medical procedure to remove fat tissues where stem cells are extracted and cultivated for 3 weeks before they can be infused into body either via IV drip or lumbar puncture.
