My name is Bernard White, and I wanted to share my journey of severe optic nerve damage. This is due to uveitis glaucoma. I work for the airlines and my eyes are vital. I love my job and I am in the middle of my career. I want to do everything possible to save my vision and "NOT GO BLIND." My sight is important to my future. I was recently selected to be a candidate for Stem Cell Therapy for a Treatment. The procedure would take place at the Healing Institute in Florida. The Medical Study Director is Dr. Steven Levy and Dr. Weiss is the Principal Investigator.

After careful review of your recent eye exam by our investigator, you have been approved for treatment in SCOTS 2- The Stem Cell Ophthalmology Treatment Study II.
The cost for treatment is USD $19,600.00 and is self-pay.

How did I get here in 2022? June 2019, I had a detached retina which resulted in needing a scleral buckle around my eye, a vitrectomy, and laser of my retina. The vitrectomy is done to remove some or all of the vitreous humor from the eye. Cataract formation or acceleration can occur after intraocular surgery, especially following a vitrectomy. I also had cataract surgery and yag laser procedure. These needed surgeries are why my Dr. at Duke Eye Clinic feels I have uveitis glaucoma.
