Stem Cell Therapy Costs for Emily Sahd
Donation protected
As many of you may or may not know, my wife Emily was diagnosed with primary progressive multiple sclerosis in March 2016. This diagnosis follows two car accidents which she suffered in 2015. The car accidents and ms have left her severely disabled, removing her from a job as an amazing nurse and have severely limited her as a parent. She has always been the rock in our family, a great mom and wonderful wife. She is fully disabled now with little to no progress after several medicines. She struggles to get around in a wheelchair and make it through each day with enough energy. She cannot do the things parents do for their kids because of this horrible condition and has missed so much of their lives because of it. It is difficult for our children and I to feel so helpless in this situation, knowing there is nothing we can do to "fix" her. Worse is watching my kids struggle without their true mom and not being able to share their experiences with her.On a daily basis, she suffers from chronic pain throughout her body due to lesions on her brain and spinal cord. Extreme fatigue, dizziness, memory issues, sensitivity to light and sound, and numbness and tingling are part of her daily struggles. She has also lost her hearing in one ear along with optic neuritis which affects her eyesight.
Her neurologist has recommended stem cell therapy so I am starting this page with an effort to cover the costs towards this treatment. This therapy is the last resort that could help her get some of her life back. Without it, her ms will continue to progress along with further limitations and complications. The process is not covered by insurance nor Medicare.
While I wouldn't normally reach out like this, our family has struggled over the last few years. The costs necessary cover the stem cell procedure with additional hyperbaric chamber therapies that maximize the ability of the stem cells to repair damaged tissues. The procedure is in San Diego, California and lasts three days and is very promising for her condition. Any donation would be greatly appreciated as we just want to see her regain some of her life. Also if you have any ideas on additional fundraising ideas please message me. We thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.
