Our son, Aidan, has cerebral palsy and has physical challenges that affect all that he does. We have always worked very hard to make sure that we do whatever we can to help Aidan thrive and be as independent as possible. As a part of his care, last year we were encouraged by his doctor to go to a physician in Monterrey, Mexico for stem cell treatments. So, we did this stem cell therapy last summer! Our experience there was fantastic, and the quality of care was wonderful. And while we saw some improvements, we would like to repeat the treatment in hopes of seeing additional progress. In faith, we have scheduled our second visit to the Hematology Center at University Hospital in Monterrey for this May. Stem cell treatments for CP in the U.S. are on a clinical trial basis only, where you won't really know if you're receiving the actual treatment or a placebo. In addition, it is not covered by insurance. The Hematology Center in Monterrey not only uses Aidan's own cells with no chance of placebo, it is also quite affordable as medical treatments go (though not covered by insurance). Aidan's physicians indicate that stem cell treatments provide the most hope for long lasting improvements for those with CP.
For anyone who desires to help with this medical trip, we invite you to do so financially if you would like. The cost covers all medical treatments and accommodations. We will be providing for our own flights, transportation, and meals.
Thank you for your continued love for Aidan and for our entire family. We look forward to what God will do through our 2nd trip to Monterrey!
Much love to you all!
